Effective October 1, 2021, the Province of Ontario has amended the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, 2017 (CYFSA) in relation to child and youth sex trafficking.

September 30 marked the first ever National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, an opportunity to honour the lost children and survivors of residential schools, their families and communities.

During the month of October, Valoris and the community of Prescott-Russell will proudly display their colours to raise awareness about the rights of children and youth to safety and well-being Child Abuse Prevention Month and Ontario Dress Purple Day.

From September 20 to 24, 2021, Valoris will celebrate Kinship Awareness Week with several other Children's Aid Societies to honour, highlight and celebrate all the relatives, whether it be a family member, friend, neighbour, teacher who care for and support children and youth.

World Suicide Prevention Day will take place on September 10 and this year’s theme is Creating Hope Through Action.
