Child Protection
One of the mandates of Valoris is to offer child protection services for the United Counties of Prescott and Russell. Following a request for services or a report, if a need for assistance is identified, we will help, accompany and guide with integrity children and their parents to reduce the risk factors.
The Child, Youth and Family Services Act, 2017 protects children under the age of 18 from all forms of mistreatment. Children in care for an extended period and youth aged 16 or 17 requiring protection may also receive services until age 21. For additional information, please read this PDF.
The services offered by Valoris are intended to be as least disruptive as possible and promote parental autonomy while involving the collaboration of the child, his parents, extended family members and key people in their environment. Our services will respect the child's basic needs in the areas of development, maintenance of stable relationships and security. These services are accessible and inclusive, and adapt to the cultural and religious differences of families.
We offer several services related to children’s aid and child protection. For information, call us at 1-800-675-6168.
The aim is to make the services the least disruptive possible for the child and to promote parental autonomy and the maintenance of family unity as much as possible.
