For several months, Valoris has felt the effects of the labour shortage, as is the case across the country. A lack of staff can put the quality of service at risk, which we cannot allow in any case.

To avoid any impact on those living in our residences and to limit the effects of the lack of staff, we have chosen to close one of our residences for adults with intellectual disabilities in the Clarence-Rockland area. The tenants of this residence will move to another of our more spacious residences, that is also adapted for people with reduced mobility. This move will also allow residents to maintain the important relationship they have developed with the staff who support them daily. Residents will live in the same community and will be able to maintain their jobs.

As a result, the residence to which the individuals are moving to will be transformed into a permanent residence and will no longer serve as a respite home. We are sensitive to the respite needs of families in our community, which is why we are working on alternative solutions to be able to offer respite services.

Rest assured that our primary objective remains the quality of our services and that these changes are made in the true interest of the individuals and families we support.
